UB Elimination Blackjack
Blackjack on UB comes in two flavours:
1. Standard single hand blackjack
2. Elimination blackjack also known as tournament blackjack
UB Single Hand Blackjack
Single hand blackjack on Ultimate Bet works in much the same way as any real world or online casino. They utilize a 6 deck shoe and cards are shuffled before each hand is dealt. UB allow players to double down after splitting and blackjack pays 3/2. One important thing to note is that the dealer must always hit on soft 17.
Players who play blackjack on Ultimate Bet can make a special wager known as the royal match bet. The maximum wager on the royal match bet is $1. If your first two cards are the same suit, you will receive 1.5/1 odds, suited blackjack pays 3/1 and a suited king and queen pays a nice 20/1.
UB Elimination Blackjack
Elimination blackjack or tournament blackjack as it is often called has been one of the most popular additions to the Ultimate Bet software. It has attracted a huge number of players as it combines the rules of blackjack with those of a traditional poker tournament.
In tournament blackjack, each player starts off with $25000 chips. The minimum wager is $500 per hand and there is no maximum bet (a player can bet their entire stack in one hand if they wish to). Players can be eliminated in 2 different ways:
1. They lose all their chips
2. They have the smallest number of chips on a designated elimination hand – hands 8, 16 and 25 are the elimination hands in UB tournament blackjack.
Elimination Blackjack Rules
The aim of the game is to accumulate as many chips as possible and to hold the largest number of chips at the end of play. Each tournament is 30 hands long, so the perosn with the most chips after 30 hands is declared the winner.
In elimination blackjack there is a marker on the table that rotates around the table, moving one position per hand. This is similar to the dealer button in poker. This marker moves clockwise around the table so that no player has an advantage by being the last to act in every betting round.
In UB tournament blackjack, players can take up to 25 seconds per hand to make their decisions. On elimination hands, there is a bit more pressure applied as the decision making clock is lowered to just 10 seconds.
One of the most interesting features of elimination blackjack is the secret bet. When a player uses his secret bet, the other players at the table cannot see the number of chips the player has elected to wager in the hand. This secret bet can be used in a similar way to bluffing in poker in order to force the other players into making mistakes.
Elimination Blackjack Tournaments come in 2 flavours – sit and go tournaments that have 7, 14 or 21 entrants and scheduled multi table tournaments where the minimum number of entrants is 30. Players who reach the final table receive $100,000 in chips with a minimum bet of $1000. Once hand 30 is finished, the chips are counted and the player who has the highest chip count is named the winner.
